Sojo Sunday: Advent of Peace
Blessed are the peacemakers
On the second Sunday of Advent we will light the candle of Peace – for God’s shalom – as we yearn for peace even as the world is filled with conflict. May the light of peace illuminate the world.
Prayer – God of shalom, help us become peacemakers in our hearts, in our homes, in our neighbourhoods and the world.
Quote – “Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.” Henri Nouwen
We are the ones we have been waiting for.
What is peace?
What does peace feel like in your heart?
What might peace look like in your school/work/home?
Write your own prayer about peace.
In person gathering is limited to 12 people, so RSVP is required to help keep everyone safe and healthy.
As always there will be coffee, tea and baklava! You are welcome to bring a vegan or gluten free treat to share.
And remember….ALL who come in peace are welcome, including but not limited to: believers, agnostics and questioning skeptics; those of all sexual orientations and gender identities; those of all races, nationalities, classes and abilities.
For folks who can’t join us in the building, we’ll have the Zoom channel open to widen the circle.
